Mark:
This week, Eden and Xen start 10th grade. Tenth. Grade.
It’s hard to believe how quickly time moves, and yet, watching them step into this new school year with confidence and curiosity feels like a powerful reflection of how much we’ve grown alongside them.
Just like us, they’re wildly different in personality and energy… and entirely complementary. Eden is fiercely focused, politically passionate, and a natural leader. Xen is curious, creative, and has a gift for seeing the world through a different lens.
They inspire us, challenge us, and continue to be two of our greatest teachers.
Renee:
I came across a photo the other day of Eden and Xen walking hand in hand on their first day of kindergarten. Backpacks nearly bigger than their bodies. That picture stopped me.

Now here they are, stepping into high school as sophomores. That image brought me right back to the early days when I was juggling motherhood and business with very few boundaries in between. And now? We’re still juggling, but there’s more rhythm to it.
This summer felt different. Not just because we checked off bucket list items or took memorable trips, but because we were truly present for it all.
We unplugged more. We laughed more.
Our mornings were slower, our conversations deeper, and we just felt more connected to each other, to our kids, to ourselves.
Of course, we still worked. We hosted retreats, launched programs, and planned ahead.
But our pace softened. We let the season of summer guide us into more connection and less pressure. And now, with new schedules and back-to-school routines in full swing, we can feel the shift again.
Mark:
Autumn has always carried a certain momentum in the personal development space. It’s when events are planned. Programs are launched. Clients return from their summer breaks with renewed clarity and fresh goals.
It’s a season of structure. Of strategy. Of movement.
And as much as we love the flow of summer, we also love this re-entry into focus. We’re planners by nature (and necessity), and the back-to-school energy kicks us into gear.
But here’s what we’ve learned:
Back-to-business doesn’t mean business was ever on pause.
It just means that we’re now shifting how we show up.
Renee:
Like many entrepreneurs who are also parents, we’re constantly juggling family life and business. Our kids’ milestones, moods, and needs shape our days more than any calendar ever could.
But that’s part of why we chose this life.
We wanted freedom.
We wanted flexibility.
We wanted to be able to show up when it really matters, whether that’s a school performance, a tough day, or a quick reset walk around the block.
It’s not always smooth. It’s rarely balanced. But it’s ours.
And these days, I’ll take real over perfect any day.
Mark:
So we’re entering this next chapter with intention.
We’ve mapped out new launches and projects. We’ve got events on the horizon. We’re supporting our MetaMind members, growing the JV Directory, and preparing for another powerful Soulful Leadership Retreat.
But more than anything, we’re honoring the rhythm of the season.
Summer brought presence. Autumn brings purpose.
And we’re here for both.
Renee:
If you’re also in a season of transition, whether it’s back to school, back to business, or back to you, we see you.
Give yourself grace.
Lean into what matters.
Let the new structure support you, not restrict you.
And remember: You don’t have to do it all at once. You just have to do the next aligned thing.
Mark and Renee:Here’s to showing up for our families, our clients, our purpose, and ourselves.
Here’s to honoring each season as it comes.
And here’s to finding joy in the transitions, not just the destinations.
